The concrete slabs are in!
While I was at work on Wednesday, the builders poured the concrete for both extensions and patios. For some reason they had to pump the concrete around the side of the houses instead of over the roof which made it much harder. The builders were working until 7pm and when I got back Mark said that due to the hot sun causing the concrete to go off too quickly, it had been the hardest days work he'd ever done!

Old views of Portslade
I was looking to see if I could find some old photos of Victoria Road and
I found this old image taken around 1920 from Victoria Road looking over what was then called The Recreation Ground. It was taken from this website ( http://regencysociety-jamesgray.com ) which has hundreds of old local photos. If you click on any of the images they should open in another window in a larger scale.
I also found some old maps showing Portslade...
The oldest map I could find, 1610.
Check out Parcham!
And a hand painted map showing Portslade from 1910 to 1920.
Sub base for the concrete slabs.
The sub base for the concrete slabs is now being filled in to provide a base for the concrete slab. We were still deciding about our patio wall arrangement, so they have completed the infill at 108 first.
